Psychometrics and assessment/What is psychometric assessment?

We’ve all heard the term and maybe even undergone some form of psychometric assessment, but what exactly is psychometric assessment?

 

Psychometric assessment is a process which can be used to help understand people’s aptitudes, abilities and personality traits

 

Practically speaking, psychometric assessments can include cognitive reasoning tests and questionnaires which measure abilities such as numerical reasoning, spatial awareness and critical thinking skills. Other tools look at personal attributes such as personality, values, motivations and attitudes.
