Gary Bassett

Gary is a former HR Director with LEGO and Chubb Fire, also having spent time with Johnson & Johnson and AMEC NNC. As part of the LEGO Global Leadership team he led the HR function for the eight business units in the Northern European region. Then in 2001 he moved to Munich with LEGO, heading the HR function for all business units in the Central and Southern European region. On his return to the UK he was approached to become the HR Director of Chubb Fire Limited. Here, part of his remit was to drive the management development programmes, which were a significant element of Chubb’s organisational change programme during the acquisition process by United Technologies Corporation.

Gary is a former First Team Rugby Captain for his University [University of Wales], where he also took a sabbatical year as Athletic Union President. He is a keen sportsman having played several sports at representative level [a Manchester United supporter], is very business focused and culturally experienced. He has a natural coaching style and has been a participant on and contributed to fast track management development programmes himself.
