TSG (Technology Services Group) has developed rapidly through organic
growth and targeted acquisition to become one of the UK’s leading
providers of IT hardware, software and support solutions to SMEs. In
response to a recognition that to maintain its rapid growth the company
needed a high level, leadership development programme TSG chose Neville
Wharton Business Psychology as its strategic development partner. The
brief was to design an inspirational and empowering programme that would
facilitate accelerated career development of high potential managers and
create a pool of talent ready to step into the strategic management
opportunities being rapidly created in the organisation.
Over forty participants have been through the Programme so far which
has developed in scope from an initial process focused mainly on one to
one coaching, psychometric evaluation and 360º feedback to one that now
also includes three team learning events, personal development planning
and a strategic business project. The Programme is designed to present
participants with a variety of intense leadership and learning
challenges over a period of seven months. They are then encouraged to
reflect on key personal learning messages and practice new approaches
which are reviewed and enhanced in the one to one coaching sessions.
The programme is led by Neville Wharton and Mike Cockburn working
closely with a small team of gifted coaches who are providing
personalised support to the participants. On going feedback and review
of the Programme has led to significant enhancements being made to meet
the needs of individuals and the organisation and results have been very
encouraging in strengthening the TSG leadership team and ensuring key
managers feel valued and supported by the company.
